The Consignment Process
All consignments begin with an approval process and only come through our Bridgeland location. Our other locations, including OTP Living, do not accept deliveries.
Our pricing takes into consideration the quality, condition and demand for all items. Please do not be offended if we cannot accept your items for consignment.
…OTP Living only accepts furniture, lamps, mirrors, unique items, paintings and prints for consignment. We do not accept rugs, accessories, appliances, linens, mattresses or fixtures. Please inquire if you are not sure whether we would accept you item(s) on consignment.
Large Items(Furniture pieces)
To consign large items, you may contact us via email with photos at email@example.com, visit our Bridgeland showroom with photos, or click the link below.
Please include the following information on the item(s): description, approximate age, brand or store purchased at, approximate dimensions, condition (damage or cosmetic wear) and price paid. We will not be able to provide an approximate estimate without this information. A quote should be available for you within three days. Our quotes are only valid for 6 months, after which a new quote must be provided.
To determine the best value for our clients and customers, from time to time we may consult with an extensive network of professionals in their specialized markets.
Please note that all photos must be 1MB or smaller for submission.
Small Items (Mirrors, Paintings, Prints, Lamps)
…OTP Living does not sell accessories. Paintings, prints and mirrors, that are easily transportable, can be brought to our Drop-off room during the drop-off hours (see below).
No appointment is necessary. In the Drop-off room,we ask that you unwrap and unpack your own items as well as repack any items not approved. Please note if you do have a large consignment, we may ask you to leave the boxes with us to be processed at a later date.
You can schedule a private home appointment with one of our associates. These appointments are reserved for multiple large items. There is a $50 fee for this service within the Toronto area.
• 50% to the consignor; 50% to the store.
Merchandise will be reduced as follows:
• 10% after 30 days
• An additional 15% after 60 days.
• An additional 15% after 90 days.
• After 120 days, any unsold merchandise will become the property of …OTP Living and part of our charity donation program.
It is up to the consignor to monitor the reduction dates and cut off dates. We do not call to remind consignors when items are sold or to be donated.
If you wish to reclaim your unsold items, the consignor may take back their merchandise without charge only after 100 days. If items are taken before the 100 days, a 15% charge will be levied at the initial pricing of the items. A two day notice is required for your items to be made ready. No pick-ups without prior notice are allowed. Pick up must be within two days to avoid storage charges of $30 per day, payable at the time of pickup.
All returned items are to be picked up at …OTP Living, 1120 Caledonia Road, during business hours. There are no exceptions.

Items originally purchased at …of Things Past, and or any of its divisions, that you wish to consign will be priced at the value it was purchased at, provided all …of Things Past standards are met. Any requested returned items that you wish to re-consign, will be priced at the original price it was returned at.
If there were any items sold in the prior month, a cheque and ‘Consignor Statement’ will automatically be mailed to you by the 15th of the following month. Only cheques over $25 will be mailed, unless it’s the last cheque, proceeds will be held until the next month. There is an administration fee applied: $3.00 on cheques under $100.00 and $6.00 on cheques over $100.00.
All items sold from any of our locations, will be itemized on the consignor statement and the consignor will receive one cheque.
Reissued cheques, stop payments and unclaimed cheques will be charged an additional fee of $15.00 per cheque.
Condition of Approved Items & Charges
Once an item has been approved, you can schedule the delivery of your item(s) at your convenience. We can recommend reliable movers.
Items must be clean and ready for display before arriving at OTP Living. Please dust, polish, clean and tighten screws when necessary. Furniture should sit solidly without wiggling or tipping and drawers and doors should open and close smoothly.
Any repairs and cleaning will result in additional fees to the consignor.
Items requiring major repair will be rejected and it is the consignor’s responsibility to remove or dispose of the item(s).
For small repairs and touch ups, the cost will be added to the selling price, and is not part of the consignor split.
Professional steam cleaning of large items such as sofas and upholstery, the cost will be added to the selling price, this is not part of the consignor split.
Other cleaning charges, starting at $10 per item, will apply to item(s) delivered in need of cleaning and will be taken off your first cheque.
Please note if you choose to have your item returned and there are fees that are outstanding, you will be required to pay the charges before your item is released to you.
OTP will not accept items with odours, stains, tears, and damages or deemed unsaleable.It is the responsibility of the consignor to remove Items that are not accepted.

There is no one available in the ‘Drop off room’ during the weekend but you may leave your items with us. Please go to the front desk for assistance.

Delivery of merchandise is the responsibility of the consignor. Delivery is by appointment. Please call ahead to advise us of your delivery number and delivery time. All furniture items and large accessories e.g. mirrors are to be delivered to our warehouse at 185 Bridgeland Ave. The receiving door is on the west side of the building labeled “Door 2″.
You must have enough manpower to move your own items out of your vehicle and onto the receiving dock. The receiving dock is approximately four feet high. Our warehouse personnel are not permitted to leave the loading dock and move your items for you.

The warehouse does not accept deliveries on Sunday. There are no exceptions.
All items that have not been approved or are no’s, have two days to be picked up or they will be automatically donated. Disposal fees will be applied. If your delivery team is still present, they will be required to take back items that are not approved.
Though we make every effort to care for your merchandise while with us, we will not be held responsible for dents, scratches or wear due to the inherent quality of the piece. …of Things Past, or its divisions, is not responsible for the wiring of lamps or fixtures. All consigned items are insured against fire and theft while on the showroom floor. Please note any items waiting to be returned are only insured for two days.The Consignor understands that there is no guarantee that a sale will occur. An item fee is levied on each item; please note this is not part of the consignor split. We reserve the right to raise prices.
We reserve the right to photograph consigned products and retain the images for use. We reserve the right to place them in any of our locations at our choosing.
We reserve the right to request that you pick up your item(s) before expiry.
We reserve the right to change our policy without notice. Lawful Owner – By placing items for sale at …of Things Past, and or any of its divisions, you guarantee that all items given to …of Things Past Inc. for sale are lawfully and entirely owned by you or you are acting on behalf of a person(s) who has given you authority to sell such items.. …of Things Past, and or its divisions will not be held responsible for any damages, penalties, fines, fees or judgements for any issue arising due to the rights of the lawful owner of the merchandise placed on consignment.
We do not sell, trade or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We may release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect theirs or ours rights, property or safety.
